Letter, sent by F.M. Robertson as Recorder of the Confederate Army Medical Board, informing Hollingsworth that the report of his appearance before the Army Medical Board for "examination as adjunct surgeon... will be unfavorable."

Francis Marion Robertson was born in Abbeville District, South Carolina in 1807. After first attending West Point Military Academy for two years, he later entered the Medical College of South Carolina, from which he graduated in 1830. In 1845 he returned to Charleston from Augusta and resumed his medical practice. During the Civil War he served as surgeon in the 16th Regular Militia.
